Local NGN payouts for Nigerian freelancers

Collect from international clients in USD, EUR, or GBP. Settle to your Nigerian bank account in NGN through licensed payout partners — without juggling Stripe, Wise, and a bank visit.

How NGN payouts work

Your international client pays your PayKato link or invoice. The licensed processor partner captures the payment in the original currency and clears it. PayKato then instructs a licensed payout partner to convert and send NGN to your Nigerian bank account.

You see the breakdown on your settlements screen: gross collected, processor fee, PayKato platform fee (from 1.5%), FX estimate, and the net NGN amount you'll receive.

Timing — what 'next payout' means

Most payments clear with the processor in 1–3 business days. Once cleared, PayKato queues your NGN payout for the next available banking window. Nigerian bank cut-offs, weekends, and public holidays affect when the money lands.

  • Card payments: usually cleared T+2 to T+3
  • Bank transfers: faster clearance, partner-dependent
  • NGN settlement: typically within 1 banking day after clearance
  • First payout may take longer while partners complete final checks

FX, fees, and what you actually receive

FX is provided by the licensed payout partner and uses a partner-set rate at the time of conversion. PayKato shows an estimated NGN amount in the dashboard so you know roughly what to expect before you request a payout. Final NGN depends on the partner rate at settlement.

Fees are itemised: processor fee (set by the card or bank partner), PayKato platform fee (from 1.5%), and any FX / payout fee charged by the partner. There are no PayKato monthly or setup fees.

Frequently asked

Which Nigerian banks are supported?
All major Nigerian commercial banks supported by our payout partners — including GTBank, Access, Zenith, First Bank, UBA, FCMB, Stanbic IBTC, and others. Availability is confirmed when you add your settlement account.
Can I receive USD into a domiciliary account?
USD settlement options depend on the merchant category, partner approval, and country availability during the pilot. Many pilot merchants currently use NGN settlement. Contact support if a USD domiciliary payout is critical to your workflow.
What is the FX rate used?
PayKato does not set the FX rate. The licensed payout partner converts at the rate available at the time of payout. The settlements screen shows an estimate so you can plan; final NGN is reconciled at settlement.
How much does PayKato cost?
PayKato's platform fee starts from 1.5% per successful transaction, with no monthly or setup fees. Processor, FX, payout, bank, and country-specific fees may apply on top, charged by the relevant partner. See the Pricing page for a sample breakdown.
Which processors and banks does PayKato use?
PayKato is built to integrate with licensed payment processors and banking partners. Specific processors and availability are confirmed during merchant onboarding based on country, merchant category, and partner approval.
