AML & KYC Policy Summary

Last updated: June 21, 2026

This is a summary of the anti-money-laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) controls PayKato applies in cooperation with its licensed payment and verification partners. It is not a full compliance manual.

Program overview

PayKato operates a risk-based AML/KYC program designed to deter, detect, and report attempts to use the platform for money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud, or sanctions evasion. The program is reviewed periodically and updated as regulation, partner requirements, and product scope evolve.

Customer due diligence

  • Individual merchants: government-issued ID and selfie verification via our partner Didit before first payout.
  • Business merchants (where supported): registration documents, beneficial-owner information, and director verification.
  • Ongoing screening against sanctions, politically-exposed-person (PEP), and adverse-media lists.

Enhanced due diligence

Additional information may be requested for higher-risk profiles, including unusual geographies, high volume, restricted business categories, or matches on screening lists.

Transaction monitoring

PayKato and its partners monitor transactions for indicators of fraud, structuring, card testing, transaction laundering, and other suspicious patterns. Alerts are reviewed and may result in account freeze, request for information, or filing of a suspicious-activity report through the relevant licensed entity.

Sanctions

PayKato does not knowingly serve sanctioned persons or jurisdictions, and screens both merchants and, where partners require, payers and payout recipients.

Reporting & cooperation

Where required by law, PayKato or its licensed partners file regulatory reports and cooperate with law-enforcement and regulatory inquiries. We may be prohibited from informing affected users about specific reports.

Record keeping

KYC and transaction records are retained for the periods required by applicable financial-services rules, typically several years after the relationship ends.
