Refund Policy

Last updated: June 21, 2026

Each merchant sets and publishes their own refund policy for their customers. This page explains how refunds are processed through PayKato and the responsibilities of merchants and customers.

For customers (payers)

If you paid a merchant through a PayKato checkout and want a refund, contact the merchant directly. PayKato is the technology and payments platform — the merchant is responsible for the underlying goods or services and for deciding whether a refund is owed.

For merchants

You may issue full or partial refunds from your dashboard for eligible transactions, subject to processor and partner limits (typically within a defined number of days from the original payment). The original processing fee may or may not be returned depending on the processor.

Fees on refunds

PayKato platform fees on refunded transactions may not be returned. Processor, FX, payout, and bank fees on the original or reversal leg may apply. The exact behaviour depends on the partner used for the transaction.

Currency & timing

Refunds are typically returned in the original payment currency to the original payment method. Time to appear on the customer's statement is determined by the customer's bank or card network — usually a few business days but sometimes longer.

Disputed refunds

If a customer disputes a charge with their bank instead of requesting a refund from the merchant, the matter is handled under our Chargeback Policy.
