PayKato is not a direct replacement for payment processors or neobanks. We are a merchant orchestration and onboarding layer that helps African businesses create payment links, send invoices, compare partner availability, and manage settlement workflows while receiving local payouts through licensed payment and banking partners.
Each provider below is strong at what it does. PayKato's angle is to make those services work better together for African merchants through a simpler dashboard, guided KYC/KYB, and coordinated settlement visibility.
| Competitor | Their strength | PayKato angle |
|---|---|---|
| Paystack | Trusted African gateway | PayKato helps merchants manage payment links, invoices, partner availability, and settlement workflow |
| Flutterwave | Broad African and global coverage | PayKato offers a simpler merchant-facing dashboard and guided onboarding |
| Stripe | Global payment infrastructure | PayKato is built for African merchants who need local payout and partner-based access |
| Grey, Geegpay, and virtual USD tools | Freelancer accounts and virtual USD receiving | PayKato focuses on merchant payment collection, invoices, and business payouts |
| Wise / Payoneer | Cross-border accounts | PayKato focuses on checkout/payment links and merchant workflows |
Comparisons are directional and based on publicly known positioning. PayKato integrates with licensed partners and does not claim to be an official partner, reseller, or affiliate of every company listed.
PayKato is merchant software for African businesses that sell internationally. We provide a single place to create payment links, send invoices, check partner availability, and request local payouts in supported countries.
We do not replace processors — we integrate with them. Payment processing, FX, and payouts are still handled by the licensed partner that is matched to each merchant during onboarding.
PayKato is not a bank, wallet, or standalone card acquirer. We do not hold customer funds, issue virtual accounts, or independently move money across borders.
If your primary need is a personal USD receiving account, a cross-border wallet, or a pure developer API, one of the dedicated providers above may be a better fit.
Our onboarding, KYC/KYB flows, and settlement dashboard are designed around African business documentation, local bank payouts, and the compliance expectations that come with cross-border trade from the continent.
PayKato may route eligible payments through Stripe, Paystack, Flutterwave, or other licensed partners depending on country, currency, and merchant category. We are a software layer that helps merchants use these services more easily, not a competitor trying to replace them.
