How Nigerian agencies can accept international payments

Agencies bill larger amounts, run multiple projects in parallel, and need clean records for finance. PayKato gives Nigerian agencies a merchant-facing dashboard for payment links, invoices, and local NGN payouts through licensed partners.

Common agency billing patterns

Most Nigerian agencies bill in one of three shapes: monthly retainers, milestone-based project fees, or hourly with monthly invoices. PayKato supports all three through a single invoice + payment link workflow — no developer integration required to send the first bill.

  • Monthly retainer invoice for ongoing scope
  • Milestone payment link per deliverable
  • Time-based monthly invoice for hourly engagements

Setting up the account

Agencies should onboard the registered business, not an individual. The bank account that receives payouts must be in the agency's CAC-registered name. PayKato verifies the business during onboarding before live processing is enabled.

Operating it day-to-day

Your operations or finance lead creates each invoice with the client's email, currency, and invoice number, and sends the link. Status updates as the customer pays. Every transaction in the dashboard carries the metadata finance teams care about: gross, fees, FX details, and partner reference.

Compliance and risk

Agencies tend to invoice larger amounts than freelancers, which means chargeback and refund handling matter more. PayKato uses partner-led chargeback workflows and may apply reserves on high-risk activity. Review the Chargeback Policy and Reserve & Hold Policy before scaling spend.

Frequently asked

Can multiple team members use the same PayKato account?
Yes — PayKato is built as a merchant dashboard for the business, not a single user. Team-member management is part of the merchant workflow.
What if a client disputes a paid invoice?
Disputes follow the licensed processor's chargeback workflow. PayKato surfaces dispute status in the dashboard. See the Chargeback Policy for how reserves and refunds interact.
How much does PayKato cost?
PayKato's platform fee starts from 1.5% per successful transaction, with no monthly or setup fees. Processor, FX, payout, bank, and country-specific fees may apply on top, charged by the relevant partner. See the Pricing page for a sample breakdown.
Which processors and banks does PayKato use?
PayKato is built to integrate with licensed payment processors and banking partners. Specific processors and availability are confirmed during merchant onboarding based on country, merchant category, and partner approval.
